Arthritis care
Arthritis is a generic term covering a range of diseases of which the most common are rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis causes the joints to become swollen, as a result of inflammation in the joint linings. Osteoarthritis is caused by the wearing away of the cartilage of the joints.
Both these forms are a common disease of old age, and create pain and mobility problems for those suffering from them.
However, there are many other types and people of any age may be affected. A number of charities support those living with the condition of which Arthritis Care is one. The local branch usually meets on the second Tuesday each month at the United Reformed Church.
